Counselling & Psychotherapy for Adults

I've been helping adults for 25 years; in the voluntary sector, NHS (as a Staff Counsellor and Adult Mental Health Therapist) and private practice for the last 20 years. I'm also highly qualified, having studied an undergraduate Degree, a Masters Degree in Counselling, as well as a modern Trauma Masterclass with Bessell van der Kolk (the body keeps the score). I've more recently studied an Advanced Diploma in Relationship Psychotherapy, to enhance my work with couples and individuals.
I'm also BACP Accredited (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy www.bacp.co.uk)

If your difficulties aren't listed, it doesn't mean to say I can't help you. Please reach out to arrange a free consultation.

How will I help you?

It's important we meet via Zoom for an initial free consultation or alternatively talk by phone, so we can see if we're the 'right' fit, to see if my way of working will meet your needs. I will hear from you what brings you and what you want to achieve and I can explain to you how I work and what's required from you. If these both match, we can then agree a way forward.

My approach is evidenced by science, but also filled with compassion and warmth, non-judgment and openness, helping you to understand you in a different capacity, increasing your self-awareness so I can help you create the changes you want in your life, for the long term, not short-term fixes.

So I can help you create change, it's important we spend regular time on understanding your life in a day to day capacity, what struggles or difficulties you have, making links to your past experiences as we progress, so we understand you on a deeper and unconscious level, this ensures long term changes are made, investing in you.
I draw upon my knowledge of different knowledge; Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems & Neuroscience/Neurobiology, I invite you to ask me any questions about these theories and how they can help you. I am a huge follower of Gabor Mate and I work in alignment with how he works as a psychotherapist www.drgabormate.com

As your therapist, I will observe and listen with compassion, no criticisms or judgments - and I will share any observations and knowledge along the way.
As Therapy is a process and takes a regular commitment to increase awareness and make changes, weekly appointments are essential.
Be assured, I will be alongside you every step of the way.

The cost of this service is £85 for a 50 minutes appointment.
Please reach out to arrange a free 15 minute Zoom meeting or telephone call before arranging a paid appointment, to see if I'm the 'right' therapist for you, contact me now
