Supervision - How I can help you
I can offer you Clinical Supervision in Bradford, having gained a Diploma in Supervision which is essential. Providing Clinical Supervision is different to working with clients as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, so extra knowledge is needed. I also adhere to BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice and I too receive regular monthly Supervision and as well as accessing my own therapy when I feel that need arises - I believe this level of support helps me support you.
When we give so much of our emotional self in helping others, it is vital we look after ourselves, as well as those we help. Receiving Supervision is part of that professional requirement, which includes receiving praise for the good work with your clients, as well as my feedback and insight into working with your clients in a way that would help you, help your client's more effectively . I can offer you all of this, including a regular monthly comfortable and trusting space, which I believe will help you be the best professional you can be, for you and your clients.
I work relationally, which means recognising the importance relationships play in the shaping of our lives including patterns in our thoughts and feelings and my training has been in focused on the Humanistic Approach, especially Carl Rogers Person-Centred Psychotherapy, which I still find essential in working with my clients and supervisees. As my experience over the (19+) years as a counsellor has developed, I have learnt about other valuable approaches such as TA (Transactional Analysis ), which offers a different and additional perspective into what's 'unspoken' within our therapeutic relationships. I would work with you from a Person-centred perspective or from an Ecclectic perspective (drawing upon different approaches with your work with clients), dependent on your requirements.
If you have any questions about the support I offer, I'd be happy to answer them for you.
